Lisa’s true passion is helping others find a voice. This has been her passion even before becoming an attorney. During law school, she was the only student awarded an externship to travel to South Africa to work with human rights organizations just after the Apartheid was abolished. She also received a public interest grant from the State of Maryland to work at the Legal Aid Society in Honolulu, Hawaii. In her own time, she has coached high school mock trial teams, helping inner-city students to learn about the legal profession and about expressing themselves. When she was in college in Maryland, attorney Lisa Voso took an online quiz about what city would best match her life and where she should live. At No. 3 on the list was a town she had never heard of: Kent, Wash. “Of all the cities and towns...” she said, shaking her head while a smile spread across her face.Today, Voso not only lives in Kent, but has a new law office and is looking to further make her mark in her new community through her volunteer efforts.
